REVIEW:

I knew I would love this book the moment I read its description and saw that it was inspired by the author’s own past lived experiences. True events always make something more meaningful for me because if they’re developed well into a story, it makes the whole book so much more realistic and memorable. This is why I adore reading memoirs as much as fictional stories. Plus, the author’s note at the end is incredible. Continue reading

REVIEW:

This was my 9th book from Kasie West, which is a fun coincidence because this story includes 9 events Sophie attends that affect her friendships, family and love life.

Like the majority of Kasie West’s books, this was a page-turner. This author is great with banter. Even if you don’t particularly like the characters, the conversations between them are entertaining and very realistic. Continue reading

REVIEW:

This was a simple and yet very unique love story. The love story itself was complex, as much happened around it, but the idea of having two people meet, fall in love and then go through hardships will not boggle anyone’s mind. It’s the events that lead to those things that will fascinate the readers and make them read on and on and on until they finish this book in a single day. Continue reading

This book is VERY different from the author’s debut novel which, by the way, I really enjoyed. Culture plays an important role here too, and relationships are developed, but it feels like a completely new book from a completely new author. Continue reading

REVIEW:

Isn’t the cover just lovely? It makes me think that it wouldn’t be so bad living in a 2D world if everything looked so soft and colourful. Still, let’s keep it 3D for now.

This is a decent story. It is fairly short and well-paced so it will most definitely not feel like a chore to read. I don’t always ask my reads to amaze me, I understand that every story is different and we’re all drawn to distinct things. But I do ask my reads to think of me sometimes, as in EXPLAIN what’s happening in a way that I can understand. Continue reading

REVIEW:

I opened this gorgeous book expecting to smile and laugh at every chapter. Emma Mills always makes me think that, what with her original and feel-good-sounding premises. And her stories do start in a lovely, fun manner. But eventually and slowly, heavy themes creep into the storyline and grow. This is good, because it means we are gently guided towards more impactful situations instead of being thrown into them without warning. That doesn’t mean this book didn’t make me smile or laugh. On the contrary, I loved it BECAUSE it made me feel such diverse emotions: happiness, sadness, befuddlement, surprise, warmth… Continue reading
