REVIEW:

I was excited to see Jacky again. I don’t feel this way about every main character. Sometimes I’m excited to see a world-building again, or feel an atmosphere again, or read an author’s beautiful writing again. And sometimes… I don’t. So it’s different every time.

But Jacky is the kind of person I know I’d feel comfortable around if I met her in real life. I know I could have fun with her and tell her everything without fearing she would judge me. She is a genuine and positive girl. The world could use a billion girls like her.

In this sequel, Jacky needs to get a job. See, her parents have a lot going on right now and they can’t handle it all: they need help. Jacky, of course, is willing to help and finds a summer job as an entertainer. On top of that, she joins another play. But because life is what it is, it’s not rainbows and sunshine for Jacky… This summer, she will learn about trust and loyalty.

I had a blast, of course. It’s disheartening that there aren’t more books in this series, but there is apparently a graphic novel that came out this year so I am excited to check it out!
