REVIEW:
My head hurts. It’s like Jennifer Lynn Barnes is not okay with just one or two or three mind-fucking revelations. In her case, it’s the more, the better. And my brain is upside down. Don’t ask me to summarize this story for you because it’ll take me HOURS to explain these complex (and very messed up) relationships.
The first book was pretty crazy but this is a whole other thrill. I mentioned that Little White Lies is the perfect beach read. Deadly Little Scandals isn’t. Not unless you want to forget you’re under the sun for hours and get real sun damage. Deadly Little Scandals will not relax you. On the contrary, it will make you feel tense because these characters just cannot escape scandals, secrets and deranged people.
This sequel is 50 pages shorter than its predecessor, and yet it contains a dozen more shocking scenes. Barnes really gave it her everything. Part of me does think that it’s a little ridiculous and that the author tried way too hard, but another part of me feels really good to have a completely ordinary middle class life. It’s just so… satisfying.
