Susan, Esther, and Daisy started at university three weeks ago and became fast friends. Now, away from home for the first time, all three want to reinvent themselves. But in the face of handwringing boys, “personal experimentation,” influenza, mystery mold, nuchauvinism, and the willful, unwanted intrusion of “academia,” they may be lucky just to make it to spring alive. Collects issues #1-4.

I requested this comic volume on a whim, having heard that it explores the theme of friendship in a humorous way.

And it’s indeed fun, but very rarely funny. I may have cracked a smile here and there, but never did I actually laugh.

It’s about three inseparable girls at college who do and say all types of curious things. As it usually is with comics, the girls have exaggerated reactions and peculiar ways of behaving.

The art is filled with bright colors that appear, you could say, neat. As for the art itself, I didn’t mind it, and some backgrounds are quite pleasant to look at, but I didn’t find the characters memorable in appearance. I hate to say it, but most of them are physically plain.

It’s good they have distinct personalities. And I think that, if we get more background on each of them in the sequels, I might just become very attached to them.

In sum, it’s a mindless read; reading it is like watching a sitcom, but without the annoying laughing of the audience.
