Hector, Terrence, and Dee have always wondered about their school lunch lady. What does she do when she isn’t dishing out the daily special? Where does she live? Does she have a lot of cats at home? Little do they know, Lunch Lady doesn’t just serve sloppy joes—she serves justice! Whatever danger lies ahead, it’s no match for LUNCH LADY!
This was… unexpected.
Obviously, you should never go into a book expecting to dislike it, and a huge part of me was hoping this would be a great read, but I rarely read graphic novels that are part of a long series, with storylines that consist of villain after trying to rule the world (or school in this case).
But this was a lot of fun. I don’t care if the story never actually progresses, meaning that every time there will be a villain, and every time he or she will be defeated. I don’t care because the humour is spot on, the gadgets are original, and the fighting scenes are actually super entertaining.
And the best part is that there is a story to tell. Yes, the villains are villainous and somewhat petty, but there are other characters in this book. Lunch Lady is not alone… No, no, she has a sidekick who creates gadgets for her and helps her complete her missions!
I can’t believe this is not an animated TV series. I’m twenty years old, and I don’t watch animated series (ever), but I think I’d watch this one. It’s that fun. I also can’t think of anything that could justify me not giving this a 5-star-rating. I love Lunch Lady, her sidekick, the three kids who are too curious for their own good, and the villains, why of course!
