Everyone knows that tigers are sleek, silent, and totally terrifying . . . most tigers, that is. But no one is afraid of Little Tiger. He’s just too small and clumsy to frighten anyone. Determined to prove that he is terrifying, Little Tiger sets out on tiptoe, creeping through the forest to find someone to scare. He gets yawned at and laughed at, but Little Tiger won’t give up. Is there any animal in the forest who will find him just as sleek, silent, and totally terrifying as the bigger tigers?

Every single kid did, at some point of their lives, (try to) scare their friends or family members by creeping behind them.

I tried it and I didn’t like it, because I quickly realized that whatever I do to others they will do to me in return, and I just cannot live with the thought that someone would want to strike revenge upon me.

But still, sometimes I simply couldn’t help myself. I was at the right moment at the right time. My brother would come into the house, and I would be right next to the door so, I mean, how could I not shout at him to make him jump? It was too hard to resist.

Here’s my way of dealing with people scaring me: when they shout at me, I shout at them. So when they say, ‘‘ROAR,’’ my reflex is to say ‘‘ROAR’’ back. It’s funny that people think they can never scare me, since I do get scared—the ROAR thing is just my defence mechanism.

Little Tiger here is so small and cute that it’s impossible for him to scare anyone. But he’s determined—surely there is someone he will manage to frighten!

Reading this adorable story reminded me of my childhood, hence the details I shared above. You’ll root for Little Tiger the moment you meet him. And as expected from the cover, the illustrations are pleasant to look at and delightfully humorous. Short and sweet.
