From the award-winning author of Princess Princess Ever After comes The Tea Dragon Society, a charming all-ages book that follows the story of Greta, a blacksmith apprentice, and the people she meets as she becomes entwined in the enchanting world of tea dragons.
One word: marvelous.
I can’t think of a single reason why you should not read this cute graphic novel. Actually, I can only think of reasons why you should, because it’s that adorable and wondrous.
It’s about Greta, a little girl who finds a dragon in need of help. She later discovers it’s a tea dragon and learns more about them as well as the art of making tea itself.
Dragons! They are so little and charming I want one myself. Granted, they do not play that grand of a role, seeing that they are unable to talk and this is a pretty quiet story about discovering and appreciating history and culture. But without the dragons this would be banal.
I sincerely wonder where Katie O’Neill got her inspiration from, because I had never heard of making tea out of the leaves growing atop the heads of dragons before. How peculiar and enchanting!
This is perfect for children, although I must admit the word ‘‘stupid’’ is mentioned. I have to say I prefer young kids not to be exposed to such words in their reads, but that’s me. Otherwise, this is wonderful and I hope everyone reads it.
