BLURB:

When BFFs Charlie, Taylor and Jamie go to SupaCon, they know it’s going to be a blast. What they don’t expect is for it to change their lives forever.

Charlie likes to stand out. SupaCon is her chance to show fans she’s over her public breakup with co-star, Reese Ryan. When Alyssa Huntington arrives as a surprise guest, it seems Charlie’s long-time crush on her isn’t as one-sided as she thought.

While Charlie dodges questions about her personal life, Taylor starts asking questions about her own.

Taylor likes to blend in. Her brain is wired differently, making her fear change. And there’s one thing in her life she knows will never change: her friendship with Jamie—no matter how much she may secretly want it to. But when she hears about the Queen Firestone SupaFan Contest, she starts to rethink her rules on playing it safe.

‘‘You can’t pick and choose whose equality you support. That’s not equality.’’

This is the best feel-good, geeky fandom, LGBT book I have read this year. It deserves a tenfold increase in the number of readers it has.

Jen Wilde does such a tremendous job of teaching the reader values and morals through an unputdownable story with loveable characters that are everything but stereotypical (except maybe for big shot movie star Reese – just the right ‘‘villain’’).

I am impressed with this book. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t sure about it at first. I’m so tired of books with invented SomethingCons for story purposes and invented fandom universes as well as internet famous people.

But would you look at that, the storyline was so engaging and impactful – especially the themes – that I didn’t roll my eyes one time, even when the protagonists started SQUEEing about their favourite things. They were too wonderful for me to mind it. And it’s an original enough story, considering the setting and elements included.

  1. This book made my geek girl heart so happy. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of 2017. Another book that fulfilled my geek girl happiness meter was Geekerella by Ashley Poston.
