Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post created by Breaking the Spine that features our most anticipated books to be released.
Having read Adam Silvera’s first novel – More Happy Than Not (see review here) – I’m extremely excited for his next novel to be published which will be LGBT themed also!
This week, my WoW pick is History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera.

Release Date: January 17th, 2017
Genres & Themes: Young Adult, Contemporary, LGBT, Mental Illness
OCD-afflicted Griffin has just lost his first love, Theo, in a drowning accident. In an attempt to hold onto every piece of the past, he forges a friendship with Theo’s last boyfriend, Jackson. When Jackson begins to exhibit signs of guilt, Griffin suspects he’s hiding something, and will stop at nothing to get to the truth about Theo’s death. But as the grieving pair grows closer, readers will question Griffin’s own version of the truth—both in terms of what he’s willing to hide and what true love means.
“Sweetly devastating, passionately honest, and breathtakingly human. Only Adam Silvera could have written this story.”
-Becky Albertalli, National Book Award nominee and award-winning author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
I hope there will be ARCs available very soon!

The more I hear about this book, the more interesting it sounds! It sounds like there will be a lot of emotional complexity and complications with the relationships.
I think the main books I’m waiting on this year are Some Kind of Happiness by Claire Legrand, Sticks and Stones by Abby Cooper, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Still Life of Tornado by A.S. King, and Finding Perfect by Elly Schwartz.
