New+WoWWaiting on Wednesday is a weekly post created by Breaking the Spine that features our most anticipated book to be released.

This week, my WoW pick is Silver in the Blood by Jessica Day George (click on cover for Goodreads).

A New York Times bestselling author brings dark secrets to life in a lush new YA perfect for fans of Libba Bray or Cassandra Clare.

Society girls from New York City circa 1890, Dacia and Lou never desired to know more about their lineage, instead preferring to gossip about the mysterious Romanian family that they barely knew. But upon turning seventeen, the girls must return to their homeland to meet their relatives, find proper husbands, andโ€”most terrifyinglyโ€”learn the deep family secrets of The Claw, The Wing, and The Smoke. The Florescus, after all, are shape-shifters, and it is time for Dacia and Lou to fulfill the prophecy that demands their acceptance of this fate . . . or fight against this cruel inheritance with all their might.

With a gorgeous Romanian setting, stunning Parisian gowns, and dark brooding young men, readers will be swept up by this epic adventure of two girls in a battle for their lives.

I’m looking forward to reading this book, especially since it is set in Romania and… I was born there. And do remember many things about the country in which I was raised till I was eight years old , so I think this might bring me a comfortable familiar feeling while reading, but we’ll see, won’t we? What are YOU waiting on? ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. oooh loving the cover! Wow, have you thought of visiting Romania again? ๐Ÿ™‚ My dad is from morocco and I took a trip after I was born and then later when I turned 13. So fascinating how different the country is compared to the US. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. You were born in Romania? That’s amazing! I’ve seen this book around, but I never bothered to read the synopsis to see what it was about. Now that I know, I’m definitely going to be picking it up. It sounds so interesting!
