The TBR Tag

The TBR Tag Hit or Miss BooksI have been tagged by Rachel at A Perfection Called Books to do this tag which basically consists of talking about books we have in our TBR. She and Dana at  Dana Square created this tag. Yay, thanks, girl! (I hope you get the concept of my banner and the tag–books to be reading being in the future and all. You do? Okay.)

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Like most people, I use Goodreads. But, sometimes, I like to get all extravagant and make additional paper lists of books I want to read. I still have them, FYI. hehe

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

I think mostly print, though I do have many e-books (and e-ARCs) on my tablet (gifted, won or received.) You see, I’m old-fashioned with books and prefer having hardcopies. Confession: I VERY rarely buy e-books (because I have the habit to always delete a book I finish reading on my tablet. Oops! I don’t keep e-ARCs when I finish reading them. :P)

A Book That’s Been On Your TBR List The Longest

Voilà! I added this book on November 14th 2012, close to when I first joined Goodreads actually. My first ever ”Want to Read” book. I recently discovered that Book Outlet has this series on their web site so I may read it soon. *crossed fingers* It’s a fairy-tale retelling, BTW. ^_^

A Book You Recently Added To Your TBR

That one! And that because of Jessica’s review who convinced me to a point that I want to read it now. Right now. *sigh* This looks like a very unique YA dystopian.

A Book In Your TBR Strictly Because Of Its Beautiful Cover

Oh man, I love this tag. Here you go, see my superficiality:

Rating: 3.23 out of 5 stars by 1015 readers

BIG SIGH

I actually bought this one as an e-book and now I’m very conflicted. I mean, 3.23 stars!!! I don’t read books that have a lower rating than 3.70 so that is a very grand risk for me. Oh hell, I bought the book, will read it someday just to say that I read it and be cured of my love for the cover. LOL

A Book On Your TBR That You Never Plan on Reading

Porbably won’t read it because the average of ratings is of 3.67 (from 569 readers) But it IS LGBT (lesbian) and that genre is dear to me. Blah, conflicted but, no, I don’t think I’ll ever be in the mood to read this one (because 3.67!!) Actually, I will take it off right now, heheh.

An Unpublished Book On Your TBR That You’re Excited For

Oh, I know the answer!!! I think you already know it as well;

Wait, I didn’t add it! *adds the book on Goodreads* How shameful, but it was always on my mind, so that counts for something, right? I must’ve forgotten to tell you but I also have mental TBR lists, hahaha. True. It’s going to be out on September 9th and I’m so excited!

A Book On Your TBR That Basically Everyone’s Read But You

Yeaaah:

I know guys, and I will read it someday. Just…not now. (Priority to 2014 published books and ARCs.)

A Book On Your TBR That Everyone Recommends To You

I don’t own this one 😦 but I will buy it for Christmas so I shall read it this year (more like next year…)

A Book On Your TBR That You’re Dying To Read

I would have said Red Queen, as Rachel, but it’s not on my Goodreads TBR so let’s go with:

I want to read it so so bad…but I don’t own this one either. I mean, I do as an e-book but I really wish to read it in hardcopy. Feel like I’d enjoy it more that way and I do want to have it in my library, next to Pride & Prejudice. ^_^

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

99! My max is 100 so I don’t get overwhelmed. You understand better now? 😉 LOL

People I wish to read their TBR Tag post (I tag:)

Jessica at Strung Out On Books

Ima Vee at The Blah Blah Notebook (Again, hehe)

Sarah at Smitten over Books

 and

Jesse at Pretty in Fiction!

  1. Lower than 3.70! Yikes! And I who give most book a 3 0_0 But I get you. I always assume people rate higher than I so I try to avoid books under 3.50, sometimes I even give those of 3.40 a go 😉

  2. Oh! It’s inspiring that you’re able to keep such a tight reign over your TBR. I could never do it. Honestly, I feel as though I keep two separate TBRs–the one on my GR and the mental one that I actually follow which is in my head and relies on my memory hahaha

I hope you get around to Sense and Sensibility, though! It’s one of my all time favourites.

  3. Nice TBR list! Be sure to read Sense and Sensibility — you won’t regret it. And if you really want it in paper, do you have access to a good used book store? There’s probably a copy there waiting for you….of course the Library is a great option, too. 🙂 Have fun, L.

  4. Whoah whoah whoah. Why haven’t I heard of this Crown Of Ice before? 😛 Thank you for bringing it on my radar, Lola! Also, you’re not alone. I haven’t read Perks too.. but I’ve seen the movie. And tell me if you’re finally reading Game Of Thrones!!! I wanna start too. 😀

  5. Jesus that’s not a lot at all, I have 500. I feel overwhelmed as shit considering I went through them all and deleted over 100 a few months ago. Anyway, thanks for the post and one thing I want to mention is to try not to base whether you want to read something on a rating of the book. Those are soooo falsely inaccurate for the most part.

    • 500?? O.o WOW. Yeah I know but for me it’s a lot! 😛 hahaha I delete some as well. Yeah well actually for me it’s crazy but I’ve always been to enjoy books with good ratings. Donno, that’s mostly how it works for me. Not that I don’t want to read the other books but I’ll just have a feeling that maybe I won’t enjoy it.

  6. I haven’t read The Perks of Being a Wallflower either Lola, so you’re not alone there. I would also need to add If I Stay and The Fault in Our Stars to that list as well, I’m pretty sure I’m the only book love in the world who hasn’t read either of those yet! Hope Crown of Ice is everything you want it to be!

  7. So, you’re one of the rare book bloggers who’s still holding on to their physical books! I used to hate reading on my eReader, but now I actually prefer it. I hope you make time for The Game of Thrones, it’s a huge novel, but it’s so worth your time! And, I don’t even want to LOOK at which title has been on my TBR pile the longest, because then I’ll feel bad. LOL

  8. Like you I prefer physical books! I don’t think i’ll ever be an e-reader convert. It’s just not fun! That being said, I love this post and your books! Hopefully you get around to reading most of these soon!

  9. I am tagged! Awesome! I love this one. Can’t wait to think more about my depressing TBR lol. Yay for physical copies. Nothing beats holding and reading a physical book. Plus you can smell them! HAHA. I’m excited for Crown of Ice, too! Gotta read Perks of Being A Wallflower ASAP, Lola! It’s good! 😀

  10. I just realized that I never commented on this post! I was too busy thinking up my answers to the questions, I guess lol. My TBR honestly isn’t as big as I thought it was, but yeah. I have no self control. My Goodreads TBR has like 240 books on ot I think!

  11. Oh that is a pretty cover on that one. I’d have trouble resisting it too.Oh my word. I would read like none of the ones I read if I stayed over 3.7 lol Part of that is a lot of the time now days I’m reading before they’re published so there’s no rating or it’s a “fake” rating of people just putting something down without reading so I tend to ignore book ratings like that.

  12. I only have books on my tbr that I actually own. Books I really want to read are on my wishlist, and that shelf is massive. I just add anything that strikes my fancy which means that there are over 4000 books on there, and I just add the first in a series. I will never be out of options! I never go below 3,50 rating on GR, except of really new releases :). Nice tag!
